What we collect when you log in

When you log in with FACEIT, FACEIT sends us your FACEIT player ID, your nickname, your avatar and which FACEIT subscriptions your account has. We store these, but of the subscriptions only your plan (Premium, Plus or none), plus when you first and last logged in. We also keep whether your account has access (and when it got it), and notes the site's admins write to manage accounts. We don't ask FACEIT for your name, birthdate or email address, and we never see your FACEIT password.

Cookies

We use cookies only to keep you logged in (for up to 30 days) and to complete the FACEIT login. There are no analytics, advertising or tracking cookies.

Hosting

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests to the site, including your IP address, as our hosting provider.

The browser extension

The Smokescreen extension runs in your own browser. Its blocks and other actions on FACEIT use your own FACEIT login and go straight from your browser to FACEIT. Your FACEIT password and cookies are never sent to this site.

Your list and settings

Your list is stored on your account: for each player, their FACEIT identity (player ID, nickname, avatar and skill level), when you added, paused, changed or removed them, and the private note you wrote about them, if any (only you can see it). If you connect the extension, it keeps the list in sync with your account and also saves its preferences there, so another browser or a reinstall gets them back. You can disconnect the extension at any time.

The extension also tells your account how many block slots your FACEIT subscription gives you, and FACEIT's name for your subscription tier, so the site shows the right number of slots. If your FACEIT account has no block slots, the players on your list aren't tracked (see below).

Your list is Private unless you change it. Link only: anyone with the link can see the list (never your notes) and your nickname and avatar. Public: the same, and the list is also shown on the Explore page, where anyone can find it by your nickname. Switching back to Private hides it again.

What the extension sends us

To run the service and keep it working, a connected extension also tells us:

  • which players are blocked on your FACEIT account, and whether each block came from your list, your party or outside Smokescreen;
  • when you have FACEIT open in your browser;
  • what it sees about the current matches of players on your list;
  • after each sync, the order it ranked your list in and which players it blocked or skipped (and why: paused, in a match, banned, and so on), kept for 45 days;
  • for your own recent matches, which players queued together as a party (read from FACEIT's match page), kept for up to 90 days;
  • its version.

We use this only to run Smokescreen and to measure and improve how well it keeps the players on your list off your team.

Party sync. When you join party sync, we receive your party's members and tell each member which players the party is blocking. The other members never see your list itself. Party data is deleted a few hours after the party stops syncing.

Data about players on lists

For players on the lists of accounts with access and FACEIT block slots, and for those accounts themselves, we collect public data: from FACEIT, their profile, skill level and ELO, and their match history (who played, when, and the results and stats); from Steam, their public online status, where their Steam profile is public. We use it to estimate when players are likely to play and to improve those estimates. Summaries of it, such as how often a player plays, when a list's players usually play, and whether a player was in your own recent matches, appear on lists you can open on the website. The rest is used only for the accounts that list the player.

Match data and match activity are deleted after at most 90 days, and skill history after a year. When no account with access lists a player any more, their data is deleted within about a week.

Your rights

You can log out at any time. To have your account and its data deleted, or to ask what we hold about you (including under Brazil's LGPD), contact us at smokescreencontact@gmail.com.

What we never do

We don't sell your data or anyone else's, don't use it for advertising or credit decisions, and don't share it with third parties except our hosting provider. The Smokescreen extension's use of information follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
